Bowie resident planning to enjoy summer full of fun vacations
A Bowie resident can deservingly lay claim to the nickname “Ultimate Diva” after winning a $10,000 prize on the Ultimate Riches scratch-off.
The $20 ticket launched in April and the lucky winner, who works as an IT specialist, has bought them regularly for the last few weeks.
“I’d been winning $20 or $50, but I was hoping for a big win,” she said. “It hadn’t happened, but I just had a feeling.”
Last week, she bought 10 of the instant tickets at Bowie Exxon, located at 1500 Northwest Crain Highway in Bowie.
“The first one I scratched was $10,000,” she said. “I was excited. It was 11 at night and I called my mom to tell her.”
She quickly hid the lucky ticket in a drawer and didn’t scratch her remaining tickets for several more days. Another $80 in prizes was waiting for her on those instant tickets.
The “Ultimate Diva” has three summer trips planned and already paid for, including a cruise to Bermuda. She plans to spend some of the prize while she is traveling and will put some of the winnings into savings.
All seven of the $1 million top prizes on Ultimate Riches remain unclaimed, along with all 13 of the game’s $50,000 prizes, 55 more $10,000 prizes, and thousands of additional prizes ranging from $20 to $5,000.
